About Enkindle
Straight-talking advice, built on substance - not financial theatre.
Whether you're building long-term wealth or finding your feet after a life change, the focus stays on advice, service and real value - never on appearances.
Our team
Who you'll be working with.

Divyesh Patel
Director & Independent Financial Adviser
A Chartered Financial Planner, with a First-Class BSc in Actuarial Science from City St George's, University of London.
Over 25 years across actuarial analysis, financial planning and compliance, with deep expertise in defined benefit pensions and pensions on divorce. His grounding in consumer protection - advising on redress for mis-sold financial products - means rigour and the client's interests are built into how he advises, without compromise. Divyesh runs Enkindle Financial Planning - when you work with us, you work directly with him.

Richard Nobbs
Director
A Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA) with decades of pensions actuarial experience.
He is the founder of Excalibur Actuaries, which provides independent expert witness reports to the courts on pensions on divorce. It was through this work that Richard saw how little good-quality financial advice was available to people at such a stressful time. Richard does not advise individual clients; instead he helps shape what Enkindle stands for - support, clarity and fair, competitive charging.
Our values
Five things we won't compromise on.
These values are behind every conversation, recommendation and fee. They are the things we measure ourselves against, whatever the circumstances.
Clarity before complexity
Financial advice should make life clearer, not more confusing. We translate pensions, investments, tax and long-term planning into plain English.
What this means for you:No jargon for its own sake, no hiding behind technical language.
Straight-talking advice
Clients deserve honest, practical advice. Our role is clear guidance that helps you decide with confidence.
What this means for you:Direct conversations, transparent recommendations, grounded in your real circumstances.
Trust through transparency
Trust is earned through openness. We're clear about how we work, what advice costs, what we can help with, and where the limits are.
What this means for you:Clear fees, clear communication.
Control through understanding
Many clients come to us at transition points - retirement, inherited wealth, later-life planning or rebuilding after divorce. We slow the pace and restore context.
What this means for you:Helping you feel back in control of your financial future.
Efficient, client-focused planning
We run an efficient modern practice, so the focus stays on advice and long-term value.
What this means for you:Efficient where suitable, face-to-face where practical, cost-conscious throughout.
Values are easy to claim - we'd rather you judged us on how we actually work.
Book a free callInvestment philosophy
Evidence-led. Cost-aware. Built for the long term.
We believe investing should be clear, disciplined and grounded in evidence - not speculation, fashion or fund-manager promises. We follow a Centralised Investment Philosophy, reviewed annually, giving a consistent framework for everything we recommend.
We keep costs low
- Simple, transparent, cost-efficient solutions
- Every layer of cost has to be justified
- Not the cheapest - the most justified
We use secure, established platforms
- Regulated platforms and custodians - never us
- Held in your name, with FSCS eligibility explained
- Appropriate client-asset protections throughout
- Chosen for strength, service and resilience
We favour passive over active
- Low-cost funds that track broad markets
- Backed by long-term evidence on net returns
- Active funds only where there's a clear, justified role
We invest on evidence, not noise
- Driven by research, not headlines or forecasts
- Focused on what can actually be controlled
- Risk, allocation and diversification set deliberately
- Reviewed and rebalanced on a schedule
We prefer large, liquid funds
- Large, established funds - typically £1bn+
- Operational depth and deep liquidity
- Daily-dealt structures, traded efficiently
